Write to info@precedentlabs.eu. We reply within 2 business days.
It helps to include the GitHub account or organization, the repository, and a link to the pull request your question is about.
Reporting a false positive
The repository of the precedent engine is not public, so please report false positives by email to info@precedentlabs.eu, not through GitHub Issues. Include:
- a link to the pull request and to the comment with the finding,
- both code ranges of the finding (file and lines) and why they are not a duplicate.
We do not fetch code from your repository outside a review, so attach a code sample if you can share it. Until we fix the finding, you can silence it with a // precedent:ignore (Rust, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#) or # precedent:ignore (Python, PowerShell) comment on the line above the duplicate.
Uninstalling the app
- User account: Settings → Applications → Installed GitHub Apps → Precedent Review → Configure → Uninstall.
- Organization: organization Settings → Third-party Access → GitHub Apps → Precedent Review → Configure → Uninstall. You need to be an organization owner.
On the same Configure page you can instead limit which repositories the app can access. Cancel a paid plan in your GitHub billing settings.
What happens to your data after uninstalling
- Repository contents are never stored: they are deleted after every review.
- The installation record (installation id, account login, id and type) is deleted immediately when GitHub notifies us of the uninstall.
- GitHub Marketplace plan records (account id, plan, seat count) are deleted when the purchase is cancelled or the account uninstalls the app.
- Per-day review counters are deleted automatically 30 days after the day they belong to, within 31 days at the latest.
- Operational logs (metadata only, no code) are deleted after 30 days.
- Comments the app wrote to pull requests stay on GitHub, where you can delete them. Check run results stay on the commits.
